I agree. I sometimes listen to rap because I listen to almost any kind of music but it really bugs when they've got it blaring and your windows nearly shatter because of it and you can't sleep at night. All of the beats sound the same and it makes my ears want to start bleeding.

My biggest beef with them is the notion of what they stand for..I remember watching a VH1 documentary and a backup dancer had said "When they rap about the life they're living, they don't necessarily believe it, that's just an image.".

Also, the egotism that goes with rap astounds, confuses, and enrages me. You see previews yet for a new movie called "Notorious"? What fucking grinds my gears is that it's advertised as "The most important movie of our time."

totally agree with the rock band part. rock bands have had a MAJOR influence on pop culture. way back when, the beatles started a movement of peace and love, a movement that NO rapper can EVER repeat. yeah, i know theyre not considered rock now but they were in those days i think the same applies with nirvana as well for the grunge movement in the 90's or whatever. i forget who started the indie rock movement though...
